How To Connect Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning To Tuya And Achieve Smart

How to transform ordinary Mitsubishi Electric central air conditioning (VRF&VRV) into smart air conditioning (WiFi and Zigbee), achieve remote control through mobile app, and voice control through smart speakers such as Alexa, Hey Google, SmartThings, Yandex Alice, etc.

Many customers have requested that Mitsubishi Electric's central air conditioning be made intelligent while meeting the requirements of low cost, easy installation, small size, and no need for external power supply.

We purchased the main control board and indoor unit control board of Mitsubishi Electric central air conditioning for testing, and found that the CN105 interface of Mitsubishi Electric central air conditioning can accept external control signals to control the air conditioning.

So began the development of Mitsubishi Electric's intelligent companion:

A. Design of the shell:

a. Mini size: can be placed inside the control box of the indoor unit for easy installation

b. Indicator light: can be used to display the current status

c. Button: Reset button, the operation steps for connecting to WiFi or Zigbee require

d. Wiring terminals: reserve 6 wiring terminals

e. Installation holes: Reserve installation holes on all four sides

B. Customization of cables: for the convenience of installation, we have customized cables. One end is customized according to the CN105 interface, and the other end is connected to the wiring terminal with 5 wires.

C. No need for external power supply:we measured that the CN105 port can provide 5V or 12V power supply, which allows power to be taken from the indoor unit of the air conditioner without the need for an external power supply, greatly facilitating installation. In order to meet common performance requirements, we considered 5V and 12V compatibility when designing the PCB, which is suitable for more Mitsubishi Electric air conditioners of different models.

D. The selection of intelligent solutions: We chose the Tuya module (WiFi and Zigbee) because it has numerous users around the world and high stability.
